The Peregrine Network is an initiative that brings together Peregrine researchers and enthusiasts, creating a platform which provides a central digital data store and an opportunity for researchers and enthusiasts to come together and share experiences, identify issues and develop strategies to protect and conserve wild Peregrines.

Arguably one of the most adaptable species in the world, Peregrines are thriving in urban environments; setting up home on buildings such as cathedral and churches and using other man-made structures such as skyscrapers and pylons.

With the increase of urban populations of these falcons, many cities have started to provide nesting platforms to assist with Peregrines breeding success.

Increasingly, ornithologists and Peregrine enthusiasts monitor the breeding pairs in urban areas and, using techniques such as colour leg rings, satellite tracking and nest cameras, take a detailed look at the behaviour and ecology of these charismatic birds of prey.

The Peregrine Network is an initiative conceived and organised by the Hawk and Owl Trust. The Trust believes that by bringing together all those involved with wild Peregrines, there will be an increase in understanding, awareness and knowledge, and that this will also help to educate and enthuse future generations.
